Coimbatore: In a startling incident that occurred last night on July 2, the usually peaceful Balaji Nagar near the foothills of Marudhamalai witnessed a wild elephant breaking into a residential area. The elephant managed to smash through the house gate, gaining entry into the compound. The entire episode was caught on a resident’s CCTV cameras and the footage quickly spread across social media platforms, becoming a viral sensation overnight.

Local residents expressed both amazement and concern as the video showed the giant mammal roaming within the compound before eventually leaving the area. No casualties were reported, but the incident has raised questions about wildlife movement in urban fringe areas and the need for immediate measures to prevent such occurrences in the future.
