Calls for Action Against Stray Dogs Menace at Coimbatore Government Hospital

Residents demand action as the number of stray dogs increases at Coimbatore Government Hospital, posing threats to patients, with recent video evidence of an attack circulating on social media.

Coimbatore: The Coimbatore Government Hospital, catering not only to local residents but also to patients from neighboring districts like Tiruppur, Erode, Nilgiris, and even from Kerala, is facing a severe issue with stray dogs. The hospital, known for its super-specialty services in cardiology, nephrology, maternity, women's health, orthopedics, general medicine, ENT, and pediatric care, attracts thousands of in-patients and out-patients daily.

However, the increasing presence of stray dogs within the hospital premises has recently heightened safety concerns. Incidents of dogs threatening and even attacking patients have been reported, causing fear among visitors and patients alike. This issue has escalated with a recent case caught on video where a stray dog was seen threatening a patient, creating panic before running off with other dogs. This video has since gone viral on social media, prompting public outcry for immediate action.

Local residents have voiced their concerns and are urging the hospital management and local authorities to implement effective stray dog control measures to ensure the safety of the patients and the general public.
