Police advisory states that those engaged in the scrap business must inform the police about suspicious vehicles

At a meeting held at the Office of the Commissioner of Police, Coimbatore City for owners of the scrap industry, the traders pledged to abide by the rules laid down by the police.


Coimbatore: A meeting was held at the Coimbatore City Police Commissioner's Office under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner of Traffic, Ashok Kumar for traders who break old vehicles and sell spare parts and iron wares. The meeting was attended by more than 100 spare parts dealers, traders and a large number of two-wheeler and four-wheeler workshop owners.



During the meeting, the police officials briefed the traders about the rules and conditions as per the law.

1) Get proper permission and license to break old vehicles and sell spare parts.

2) The license obtained by you has to be renewed once in three years.

3) Traders who break old vehicles and sell spare parts should register vehicles coming to their shops, and also broken vehicles and maintain records properly.

4) If the vehicles brought to the shop are stolen vehicles or suspicious vehicles, inform the police station immediately.

5) In case the license holders violate the conditions for the second time, the erring person will be punished with imprisonment of two years and a fine of Rs 10,000.

The traders who attended the meeting have promised to comply with the rules laid down by the police.
