Mudumalai Tiger Reserve cautions motorists and tourists to drive carefully in Reserve area

Since the animals have started migrating to the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve forest due to incessant rains, motorists and tourists have been advised to travel carefully and not go near the animals nor click photographs.

The Nilgiris: Due to incessant rains, the surrounding areas of Mudumalai Tiger Reserve sports a lush green cover. Due to this, a large number of wild animals including wild elephants, wild buffaloes, bears and deer have started migrating.

Tourists are overjoyed at spotting wild animals since they regularly move to the roadsides in the mornings and evenings. While bisons flock to graze near the highway from Masinagudi to Theppakadu and the Kakanallah National Highway from Thorapalli to Karnataka, there is also an increase in the movement of bears in the area.

Owing to the increased wildlife movement, the administration of the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve has issued a warning to motorists and tourists passing through the roads to drive with utmost caution. Tourists have also been advised not to go near the wildlife or park their vehicles nearby, nor click photographs and selfies which seem to disturb the animals the most.
