NIA officials seize digital documents in raids on houses of those connected to Coimbatore car cylinder blast victim

During the raids, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) officials seized digital documents such as pen drive, hard disk, cell phones and documents related to those connected to Jamesha Mubin who died in the Coimbatore car cylinder blast on October 23.


Coimbatore: In connection with the Coimbatore car cylinder blast case, 42 locations in eight districts of Tamil Nadu including Chennai, Coimbatore, Thiruvallur and Chengalpattu are under the radar of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) which has been conducting inspections in Kerala's Palakkad district since Thursday morning.

Since Thursday morning, NIA officials from Chennai and Cochin were carrying out the raids in over 20 places in Coimbatore, including Kottaimedu, Ukkadam, Golden Jubilee Nagar, Rathnapuri and at the houses of all those who were in contact with those arrested in the case.



Notably, the searches were also conducted at the homes of members of organisations banned by the Central Government. According to reports, various important documents have been seized in the raids which wereconducted since morning have now been completed.



A raid was conducted on the house of one Nasser who had purchased three iron cans to stage the planned conspiracy involving Jamesha Mubin who died in the car explosion. According to sources, during the raid, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) officials have seized digital documents such as pen drive, hard disk, cell phones and documents related to the crime incident.



On October 23, Jamesha Mubin was killed in a car explosion near Kottai Easwaran Temple in Coimbatore. The police have arrested six persons in connection with the case. It is to be noted that the investigation of the case has been transferred to the National Investigation Agency and the NIA officials are conducting the investigation.
