Coimbatore SP warns mills will be sealed if irregularities seen when paddy supplied by Civil Supplies Corporation is converted into rice

Coimbatore Zone Superintendent of Police, Balaji, who inspected the grinding mills in Coimbatore district issued the warning to factory owners in the wake of several allegations of malpractices in grinding mills in Coimbatore district where paddy is converted into rice.



Coimbatore: There have been several allegations of malpractices being reported in grinding mills in Coimbatore district where paddy is converted into rice by the Consumer Goods Trading Corporation.



The Chief Director of Civil Supplies Crime Investigation Department, Abash Kumar had directed the Superintendent of Police, Coimbatore, Balaji to conduct an investigation at the IPS Consumer Trade Corporation. On his order, the Superintendent of Police, Coimbatore, Balaji conducted a detailed inspection of the hulling mills provided by the Consumer Goods Corporation in Coimbatore district.



During this inspection, he investigated whether the rice milled here is transported to Government warehouses. He also advised the mill owners to mill the paddy provided by TNCSC without any irregularities.



He warned that in case of violation, a case will be registered and the grinding mills will be sealed.
