Traders’ Association not participating in band; Police should provide security to shops that will be opened on October 31 - Federation of Traders' Association

A petition has been submitted to the Coimbatore City Police Commissioner's office on behalf of the Federation of Tamil Nadu Chambers of Commerce and Industry demanding adequate security for small, micro and commercial establishments on the day of the bandh announced by the BJP.

In response, the police have arrested six persons. In the wake of the car cylinder blast incident in Coimbatore city, the BJP has announced a closure of shops on October 31.

Following this, the Federation of Tamil Nadu Traders Associations has announced a shutdown today. They have also demanded that the police should provide security to the shops that have kept the shops open without attending the shutdown so that there are no threats.

The federation submitted a petition to the Coimbatore City Police Commissioner's office.



In the petition, they stated, “The shutdown will have a huge impact on the traders and the general public and hence full cooperation will be provided when ever a public bandh is required.

The bandh that has just been announced should be reviewed.

The traders' associations are not participating in the bandh announced now and at the same time, they have also demanded that police protection be provided so that there are no threats.
