Woman dies after being bitten by snake near Kinathukadavu

Muthulakshmi, the victim of the snake bite, was undergoing treatment at the Coimbatore Government Hospital since the night of October 8 when she was bitten but succumbed on October 10.


Mayilsamy, a native of Muthugoundanur near Kinathukadavu lived with his wife Muthulakshmi (49) and only son, Sakthivel (24).

Muthulakshmi was bitten in the leg by a poisonous snake while fetching water near her house on the night of October 8. Relatives rushed Muthulakshmi to the Coimbatore Government Hospital but despite being treated intensively by doctors, Muthulakshmi died on the night of October 10.

Based on a complaint lodged by Muthulakshmi's son Sakthivel, the Kinathukadavu police have registered a case and are investigating.
