Govt. school students and parents in Kinathukadavu's Immidipalayam petition Dist. Collector over delay in educational stationery supply

Students of a Government school in Kinathukadavu Immidipalayam in Coimbatore district submitted a petition along with their parents to the Coimbatore District Collector stating that they were not being provided with educational equipment, including books and free school bags, which were to be provided by the Government.

Coimbatore: Even though schools across Tamil Nadu began offline classes in June for this academic year and quarterly exams are over, a Government school in Kinathukadavu Immidipalyam is reportedly yet to receive its quota of educational equipment for students.

The students of the school along with their parents met the Coimbatore District Collector, G S Sameeran to submit a petition alleging that 14 types of educational equipment, including free school bags had not yet been provided.

With Monday being People's Grievance Day, students of the Government Higher Secondary School at Kinathukadavu Immidipalayam in Coimbatore district, along with their parents, submitted a petition to the Collector, carrying banners which stated that the Government was yet to provide free school bags due to them.

Amongst the 100 children studying at the Kinathukadavu Immidipalayam Government School, more than 30 parents and students have submitted the petition to the Coimbatore District Collector alleging that they were facing severe difficulties due to lack of books, school bags etc. They alleged that despite repeated representations by the School Education Department at various places, including the Directorate of School Education and the Chief Minister's Special Cell, no action had thus far been taken on the difficulties faced by the students due to lack of educational equipment which had to provided by the Government.

Social activist, Periyar Mani said that if the Government does not find a solution to the issue immediately, the next step would be to mobilise the villagers and launch an agitation.
