Information Minister visits and consoles ill children from shelter home in Tirupur Govt. Hospital

The Information Minister, M P Saminathan met the children of the shelter home who had taken ill and were undergoing treatment at the Tirupur Government Hospital. He consoled them and later briefed the media that the real cause of the death of the three children can be known only after the post-mortem report is received.



Tirupur: Three children died after their dinner at Vivekananda Sevalayam, a children's home on Thirumuruganpoondi Ring Road on Avinashi Road in Tirupur district, while 11 others are undergoing treatment at the Government Hospital in Tirupur.



Information Minister M P Saminathan personally met the other children who had been admitted at the Tirupur Government Hospital and enquired about the treatment being given to them. He consoled the students who are undergoing treatment.



Briefing the media later, Minister M P Saminathan said, "The loss of the three children is saddening. The tragedy could have been avoided if they had taken the advice of a doctor immediately after the onset of fever. Only four of the students undergoing treatment are under intensive treatment as the fever is yet to subside. The rest of the boys are in a good condition and can go home. The real cause of the death of the three children can be known only after the post-mortem report is received."

The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu has sent Social Welfare Minister, Geetha Jeevan to inquire into the tragic incident.
