Coimbatore: Vijayadashami, the concluding day of Navaratri, is being celebrated today. On this day, it is believed for decades that whatever is started today whether education or arts will turn very fruitful to the individual. It is customary to start on this day to enroll children in school and start training in singing, musical instruments, dance, other language training, and learning a new profession.

For this, children are made to write for the first time on rice in a programme called Vidyarambam. It is held every year in Ayyappan temples. Accordingly, the event is being held today at the Siddhapudur Ayyappa Temple in Coimbatore.

Every year, on the Vijayadashami day of Siddhapudur Ayyappan temple, this event is celebrated in a grand manner. Similarly, this year too, prayers are being offered on the occasion of Vijayadashami.
