Hindustan Makkal Seva Iyakkam petitions Collector, Commissioner of Police, SP for flags, flex boards of banned PFI organization to be removed

A complaint has been lodged at the offices of Coimbatore District Collector, City Police Commissioner and the Superintendent of Police on behalf of the Hindustan Makkal Seva Iyakkam, demanding sealing of PFI offices and removal of flag poles and flex boards.

Coimbatore: The Hindustan Makkal Seva Iyakkam lodged a complaint at the offices of the Coimbatore District Collector, City Police Commissioner and the Superintendent of Police demanding sealing of the offices of the Popular Front of India which has been banned by the Central Government, and removal of flag poles and flex boards.

The complaint was raised alleging that the PFI was raising funds for terrorist organisations throughout India by committing illegal activities against the Indian nation in acts of terrorism and by committing various religious massacres across India. They also alleged that the Popular Front of India has links with the international terror group ISIS and had planned to assassinate the Prime Minister. The Central Government has also banned PFI's affiliates for five years. The Government of Tamil Nadu has also issued an order in this regard which was sent to all the District Collectors and police officers by the Chief Secretary of Tamil Nadu and the Home Secretary.

The offices of PFI organisations in some districts of Tamil Nadu are being sealed by the concerned Government authorities in this regard. Similarly, in Coimbatore district, flag posts and flex boards have been put up at various places in the offices of the PFI and its affiliates.

"The authorities concerned are yet to take steps to remove all these flag poles and flex boards. No permission should be granted to any activity of the banned PFI. Therefore, as per the Government order of the Government of Tamil Nadu and as per the Constitution of India, the District Collector should immediately take steps to remove the flag poles and boards associated with the banned PFI organisation and seal their offices," demanded members of the Hindustan Makkal Seva Iyakkam.
