Police investigate suicide of ESI Hospital employee in his home near Singanallur

Sudhakaran, a Junior Assistant at the ESI Hospital was reportedly living alone after being separated from his wife due to differences of opinion. According to preliminary investigations, it is reported that he ended his life by suicide due to depression over the separation.


Coimbatore: In a tragic incident, a man working at the ESI Hospital ended his life by hanging himself, near Singanallur.

Sudhakaran (34) who was residing in an apartment near ESI Hospital apartment on Singanallur-Trichy road in Coimbatore district was working as a Junior Assistant at the ESI Hospital. Sudhakaran's wife of three years, Gayathri, had recently separated from him due to differences of opinion.

It is reported that the door of the house where Sudhakaran was staying for the last two days had remained closed. When his elder brother Prabhakaran entered the house on suspicion, he was shocked to find Sudhakaran hanging from the ceiling fan in the bedroom of his house.

The Singanallur police were informed about the suicide and Sub-Inspector Karthikeya Pandian who reached the spot immediately, recovered Sudhakaran's body and sent it to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for post-mortem. According to preliminary investigations, it is reported that Sudhakaran had ended his life by suicide due to depression over his wife's separation.

The police have registered a case and are investigating the matter further.
