Misappropriation of gold jewellery worth Rs 6.5 crore sent from Bengaluru to Coimbatore jewellery shops for distribution; police investigation underway

The owner of the company has lodged a complaint with the Coimbatore Variety Hall police alleging that gold jewellery worth Rs 6.5 crore, sent by an employee from Anmol Jewellery, a wholesale jewellery store in Bengaluru, to Coimbatore jewellery shops for distribution has been misappropriated.


Coimbatore: Anmol Jewellers has been operating in Bengaluru for the past 25 years. The jewellery is supplied to Coimbatore and various other areas from Anmol Jewellery, a wholesale jewellery store in Bangalore.

Hanuman Duvesi, who hails from Rajasthan, works as an employee in this jewellery shop. He was in the process of distributing jewellery from Bangalore to jewellery shops in Coimbatore.

He had also handed over the jewellery to the respective jewellery shops, obtained a receipt for the same and sent it to Bengaluru.

Last month, Hanuman Duvesi, who had brought jewellery from Bangalore to Coimbatore for distribution, did not give the jewellery to the respective jewellery shops.

When Anmol Jewellers owner Chaknal Khatri asked Hanuman Duves, who brought the jewellery, for an explanation, he did not respond properly and it was suspected that he might have misappropriated the jewellery.

Anmol Jewellers owner Chaknal Khatri has lodged a complaint against Hanuman Duvesi at the Variety Hall police station. In which He has been accused of misappropriating gold worth Rs 6.5 crore weighing 13.5 kg.

Based on the complaint, the police have registered a case and are investigating the matter.
