Champion roller skater siblings take up anti-plastic campaign near Perur; urge people to use Manja Pai

Environmentally conscious siblings - Muralidharan, and Kavindharan, studying at class eight and fourth at the Madhampatti Government HSS, have taken up an anti-plastic awareness campaign to drive home the fact how plastic usage could spell doom to the brittle environment.

Coimbatore: Two siblings, Muralidharan, and Kavindharan, both champion roller skaters, studying at a Government School in Madhampatti Panchayat have taken up an anti- plastic awareness campaign to drive home the fact how plastic usage could spell doom to the brittle environment.

Muralidharan, and Kavindharan, studying at class eight and fourth at the Madhampatti Government HSS, had won many prizes in roller skating competitions at the district and state levels, over the years.

The two environmentally conscious brothers, who commenced their campaign from Madhampatti to Perur stretch, roller skated in high traffic stretches urging the public not to use banned plastic bags, but instead use the environmentally friendly "Manja Pai'' the cloth bag, proposed by the state guverbment.

The duo flaunted the national flag and a Manja Pai on their campaign journey.

The three- day campaign would be used to drive home the fact that the plastic usage would spell doom to the environment, as it is poisonous to human, cattle, marine life and other living beings.
