The parents who contacted the Child Help line were asked to file a police complaint at Alanthurai police station, following which Inspector Selvakumari arrested the accused. He was produced in court and remanded in custody.
Coimbatore: Alandurai Police on Monday arrested Jeevanandam under POCSO act for sexually harassing a 10-year-old girl child.
According to Police, a 29 old woman with two children had married for a second time after separating from her first husband. She along with her newly wedded husband and the children - a 10 year old girl and a boy of 12 are living in Alanthurai, here. And, the two children are studying at a local school in the same area.
A neighbour and a friend of the woman's husband, had lured the 10 year old girl and sexually assaulted her. Having seen the girl teary eyed, the parents inquired her, upon which the girl child had revealed that Jeevanandan had committed the crime of sexually assaulting the minor girl and also threatened her not to reveal anything to anyone.
