MDMK will soon be in a position to determine the political course of the State - Vaiko in Coimbatore

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin is leading an able “Dravidian model” government in the state. The welfare schemes and policies introduced by the CM are unique and largely beneficial to the people - Vaiko.

Coimbatore: The MDMK has grown to a renewed strength and vigour and soon will be in a position to determine the political course of the state in future, said MDMK General Secretary Vaiko, here today.

Briefing the media persons, after participating in a consultative meeting with party leaders and cadres at the MDMK office at V.K.K Menon road Vaiko said that though he was in a sabbatical during the Covid pandemic times, he said he has started his tour of the state from Kongu region, which is the “Gibraltar fort” for the party.

Vaiko said that Arignar Anna birth anniversary celebrations would be celebrated in a grand and fitting manner by the party at Chennai, and he exhorted the cadres to participate in large numbers in the celebrations, which will be held across the state.

While noting that MDMK though has less financial clout , it remains a party with strong ideological moorings. He underlined the fact that the Kongu region has over one lakh committed party cadres and is growing in strength.

While condemning the BJP- led government at the Centre for its divisive policies, Vaiko said that the BJP government is imposing a “one language one nation” formula which is inimical to the interest of the nation and opined that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin is leading an able “Dravidian model” government in the state. Welfare and policies introduced by him in the state are unique and largely beneficial to the people.

“While Karunanidhi followed the footsteps of Anna, Stalin is following in the footsteps of Karunanidhi” Vaiko noted

Vaiko blamed that the GST imposed on essential commodities has affected the common man in a big way. While, the BJP is running its government detrimental to the interests of the people industrialists like Ambani and Adani have only largely benefited.

While condemning the price rise of LPG gas and petrol prices Vaiko said that in Parliament opposition party members should be given opportunities to speak and express themselves. He also backed Rajya Sabha Chairman, Venkaiah Naidu for forwarding the same opinion and welcomed the hoisting of the national flag under “ Har Ghar Tiranga” .

While parrying a question as to the meeting of actor Rajnikanth with Tamil Nadu Governor Ravi, he said Rajnikanth is saying different things at different times. One day, he says he would start the party, and later withdraws his statement. So there is no reason to take him seriously when it comes to politics.

Earlier, MDMK District secretary Mohan Kumar presided over the meeting in which hundreds of MDMK cadres took part.
