Coimbatore: Tamil Nadu's Bharath Nishok Kumaran registered a 6-4, 2-6, 6-3 win over Rishi Reddy of Karnataka in the men's quarter finals of the Rotary Sharp All-India Tennis tournament (AITA) here at the KG Ramesh Tennis Academy on Thursday.

In another quarter finals match, Guhan Rajan of Tamil Nadu sealed a victory over Chandigarh's Neeraj Yashpaul 7-6 (7), 7-6 (5) and entered the semi-finals. Top seed Ishaque Eqbal from West Bengal breezed past Maharashtra's Armaan Bhatia 7-6 (3), 6-1 to get into the top four. Along with these three, Prajwal Dev (KA) won the match against Kunal Vazirani (MH)6-1,6-0.

In the women's category, top seed Nithyaraj Baburaj (Tamil Nadu) was defeated by her state mate Sai Avanthika 6-3, 6-2. Shwetha Rana of Delhi, Karnaraka's Sadiq and Rishika Sunkara of Delhi were the other semi-finalists. In the doubles semi finals, Kunal Vazirani (MH) and S D Prajwal Dev (KA), beat Bharath Nishok Kumaran (TN) and Kavin M (TN) 6-3, 6-2, while Mohammed Fahad (TN) and Yash Yadav (MP) beat Dhakshinieshwar Suresh (TN) and Taha Kapadia (TS) 1-6, 6-3, 10-7 to reach the finals.
Shwetha Rana (DL) and Nidhi Chilumula (AP) beat Sai Avanthika (TN) and Anusha Kondaveeti (AP) 6-4,6-2, while Sai Dedeepya (TS) and Sara Yadav (MP) beat Prathiba Narayanan (KA) and Pragati Narayanan (KA) 6-2,6-4 to enter the women’s finals.
