Coimbatore: Sri Ramakrishna Matriculation Higher Secondary School had emerged as the winners of the Junior Super Kings final phase by defeating Lady Andal by 13 runs in the finals at Indian Cements Cricket ground, Tirunelveli on Monday.

With this victory, Sri Ramakrishna MHSS has created a record as it became the first non Chennai team to lift the Junior Super Kings Trophy.
V Sriram Ishwar of Sri Ramakrishna MHSS was selected as player of the tournament, while S Harjith and G bushel of Sri Ramakrishna MHSS was selected as player of the tournament and best batsman of the tournament.
After winning the Coimbatore leg tournament held earlier this year, Sri Ramakrishna MHSS qualified into the final leg of the tournament held at Tirunelveli. In the final leg, the champions played 3 matches in league stage and won 2 matches to qualify into the semi-finals.
In the semi-finals of the tournament, Victors played against Pluto's Academy, Tirupur and defeated them comfortably by 7 wickets to book their spot in the finals. On the other side of the semi, Lady Andal defeated Vidya Mandhir Senior Secondary School by 5 runs to enter finals.
In the finals batting first, Sri Ramakrishna MHSS scored 141 for 6 wickets in 20 overs. V Sriram Ishwar added 29 runs to his side. While defending the target, boys from Coimbatore were decent in the line and length to restrict Lady Andal for 128 runs to secure 13 runs victory to emerge champions of the tournament.
Indian Cricketers Murali Vijay and Subramaniam Badrinath awarded the trophies to the winners of the tournament.
