Two burglars enter home loot chain, cash

Two burglars entered a house in Seripalayam village near Negamam on Monday morning and snatched a 3.75 sovereign gold chain from a woman in the house. They also stole 40,000 from the house.

Police said N Gopal, 40, of Radhika Garden in Seripalayam village was engaged in the cotton business and rears cattles as well.

On Monday morning around 2am, Gopal left the house and left for his farm to check on the cattle. His wife Vasantha, 32 and his son Muthuraj, 6, were sleeping in the house. Gopal had forgotten to lock the main door of the house.

Around 2.30am, two burglars entered the house and robbed 40,000 from a steel bureau. They also snatched a 3.75 sovereign gold chain from Vasantha's neck and escaped.

Gopal returned home and immediately informed the Negamam police who rushed to the spot. Police said Gopal had fixed a CCTV camera near the entrance door and the footage of the accused entering the house has been recorded by the CCTV camera.

Forensic officers and dog squad also visited the spot. Two finger prints were also lifted from the spot.

Negamam police registered a case and further investigation is on.
