The Gandhipuram bus stand is one of the most crowded places in the city as every minute thousands of passengers visit the bus station to travel to various places.
In order to improve the sanitation standards in the bus stand, the Coimbatore Corporation has built new toilets at the juncture. The plush toilets are undeniably at par with any other toilet facilities. The toilets are all set to be opened up for public usage shortly. Separate toilets for women with enhanced facilities like sanitary disposal bins, lighting, doors with safe latches and 24/7 water facility are some of the key features of the toilet. .
Yesterday, CCMC, Special Officer, K. Vijayakarthikeyan inspected the toilet complex that has been built at a cost of Rs.30 lakhs. He interacted with the officials on continued maintenance of high sanitation standards at the toilets.

Following which he inspected the construction of road near the Brookefields Mall. The Brookefields mall comes under the Central Zone of the CCMC, laying of new roads have been kick-started at a cost of Rs. 75 lakhs. CCMC Special Officer, inspected the on-going process and discussed on the time-line of completion as Brookefields road is one of the prime junction in the city.
Deputy Assistant Commissioner (In-charge) Mohanasundari, Zonal Sanitary Officer Gunasekaran and other corporation officials were present during the inspection.
