Dr. SNS Rajalakshmi College of Arts and Science celebrates New Year with great pomp!


Dr. SNS Rajalakshmi College of Arts and Science, Saravanampatti today hosted New Year celebrations at their college by cutting a yummy 40 kg butter cream cake. The scrumptious 40 kg cake was baked by the students of catering department of this college.



Dr. M Daniel, Principal, cut the cake and conveyed his new year wishes to the students and faculty members. Manian, Director of SNS Institutions and Research Dean, Palanisamy were present during the ceremony. 



The Head of catering science department, Pravin David while speaking to us shared that "The process of cake mixing began two weeks ago with the soaking of assorted and exotic nuts like raisins, cranberry seeds in premium rum. Nearly 50 students and staff of catering department were involved in the process of making. It was yesterday we finished the finally baking and decorating of the cake. Totally, we baked 90 kg of cake. Out of which 40 kg is concerted into a butter cream cake and 50 kg as plum cake. Every year, we bake cakes and distribute to the students. But, this year is the first time the department is celebrating New Year with great pomp."

As a part of the celebrations, a baking demonstration was hosted for the students of this college. Arun, Sabitha V.R .Padmavati Shridev of the catering science department demonstrated the various techniques of baking at this workshop.



The Chairman Dr. S. N. Subramaniam , Correspondent Dr. Rajalakshmi , Dr. Nalin Vimal Kumar Technical Director extended their New Year greetings to all the students and staff members. The management, staff and students from the college participated in this event.
