Corporation continues encroachment drive, recovers 2.25 acres of land.


Coimbatore corporation commissioner K. Vijayakarthikeyan has stated that 2.25 acres of land worth Rs.24.60 crores have been removed of encroachments and boards safeguarding these lands have been placed on the sites.

This two-day drive was carried out on 23.12.2016 and 24.12.2016. The Corporation would continue this drive until all reserved and encroached sites are retrieved, said CCMC Special Officer.



The details of the land that was recovered are 85 cents of land in ward 32 of Coimbatore corporation located in Udaya Nagar in Vilankurichi, 20 cents of land near Vadavalli bus stand, Vadavalli worth Rs. 3 crores, shops which encroached the road sides in GKS nagar in ward 28 and Gandhi Maanagar in Ganapathy which comes under ward 41 of Coimbatore corporation.





Including 50 cents of land worth Rs.8 crores which was allocated for common usage in Meenakshi Nagar in Saravanpatti which comes under ward 28, 70 cents of land worth Rs.5.60 crores which was under encroachment in the ward no 90 in near Community hall in Sundakkamuthur. Meat shop and a toilet which occupied the roadside land at Parameshwaran Pillai Layout in Sidhappudhur which comes under ward number 53 was recovered.
