Coimbatore: Welcoming Government of Tamil Nadu's decision to hold property tax revision announced last year, CODISSIA in a press release has thanked the State government for considering the representation from industrial associations.
In a press note released today, CODISSIA President R.Ramamurthy thanked Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami and Rural development Minister S.P Velumani for their favourable consideration.
In April 2018, the state government announced of property tax hike. CODISSIA along with other sister associations of this region, jointly submitted a memorandum to Minister S.P Velumani to reconsider the property tax hike.The representation of the same was also given to Harmander Singh, IAS, Principal Secretary to Government, Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department.
Considering the appeal, State government on Tuesday announced to hold on the property tax revision and planned to form a committee to reconsider the same.
TN Government has also announced to pay the property tax as before the amendment and the revised property tax if paid already, will be adjusted against the tax for the forthcoming period.
It is to be noted that Government of India, has announced increase in property tax at 100% for the industry and trade buildings and 50% hike for residences.
