Samhita Academy now in Coimbatore

The Samhita Academy, a socially integrated school was inaugurated at Malumichampatti on Wednesday.

Founded by Kumari Shibulal and SD Shibulal, Co-founder, Infosys, this institution has its roots in The Advaith Foundation, a charitable trust, set up by the former in 2004.

“Our vision is to transform lives through education,” said Kumari Shibulal, talking about the first academy, which was established in Bangalore in 2007.

The Coimbatore establishment is second in line, next only to the Bangalore facility.

Located on a six-acre campus, the academy will comprise of class rooms, labs, library, art and craft room, an AV room, music and dance room. It will also have a playground, exclusive area for pre-primary children, Shibulal added.

The school, which is expected to become operational in 2016–17, will have classes from pre-KG upto grade III, she said.

Going forward, Samhita Academy aims to build more such schools across India, the Infosys Co-founder said.
