Saritha Nair appears before Solar Panel Commission

The solar scandal accused and Malayalam actor Saritha Nair appeared before the Solar Panel Commission at the Magistrate Court of Coimbatore district this morning.

The Commission will be closing the probe by March 8, 2016. Within a few days from then, it is expected to submit its report before the Court. She was here to submit her part of evidence to the Commission. She claimed she was almost done with 75 per cent of it. There were nearly 20 compact discs which contain the digitalised information.

While talking to the media, she said that the Chief Minister and Finance Minister of Kerala cheated her. She also added that two MLAs of Kerala, namely, Benny B. and P.C. Vishnu were partially involved in the scandal. The amount looted by them may amount to Rs. 2.5 crore each. She also said that Oommen Chandy, if expected to appear before the Solar Panel Commission, would not do so due to political influence.

She alleged that, she had bitter experience with the Congress men of Kerala. But she did not wish to accuse any of them nor involve in election propaganda against them.

When questioned about the customs raid at Biju’s office yesterday at Selvapuram in Coimbatore, she said, she had nothing to do with it. She added that the situation in Kerala was not so good to start any new business. “Strong political influence and copious money is enough to pave way for a successful business in Kerala”.

She also said she had been receiving threatening calls via internet, and so was not using her mobile phone.
