Tamil Nadu Agricultural University student receives Nammalvar Award

A Ph.D. scholar of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) here, received ‘Nammalvar Organic Fanning Student Award-2015’, instituted by Tamilan TV.

The award for D. Balasankar, Department of Vegetable Crops, Horticultural College and Research

Institute, TNAU, which carried a citation and memento, was presented on February 14, a TNAU release said today.

Totally 4,023 applications were received under different categories like Nammalvar organic farming, best public writer, social service, best sports, best engineer, best speaker and Tamil artist.

After scrutiny, 160 applicants were invited for interview, based on which Balasankar was selected by the committee for this prestigious award.
