The Price Forecasting Scheme of Centre for Agricultural and Rural Development Studies (CARDS), TNAU has analyzed the last 14 years of coconut and copra prices prevailed in Avalpoonthurai Regulated market of Erode district and has predicted for the wholesale prices of Coconut.
The prediction reports indicate that price of superior quality coconut during the months of September-October would be between Rs. 8 - 9 per nut and Copra would vary between Rs.58 - 60 per kg.
In Tamil Nadu the major coconut producing districts are Coimbatore, Thanjavur,Kanyakumari, Tirippur, Dindigul, Krishnagiri, Theni, Vellore, Salem, Dharmapuri and Tirunelveli.
