Rail Traffic Hit Between Ahmedabad-Mumbai

As many as 10 trains running between Ahmedabad and Mumbai had to be cancelled on Monday after a goods train derailed near Dahanu in Maharashtra, officials said.

Besides, half a dozen trains were delayed in the Ratlam division following erosion of soil near a railway bridge in Gujarat.

According to official sources, most of the morning trains between various stations of Mumbai and Gujarat had to be cancelled due to the derailment in Maharashtra.

The trains were the 12009 Mumbai-Ahmedabad Shatabdi Express, 12935 Bandra-Surat Intercity Express, 19011 Ahmedabad-Mumbai Gujarat Express, 19215 Mumbai-Porbander Saurashtra Express, 9021 Bandra-Jammu Tawi Express, 19023 Mumbai-Ferozepur Janata Express, 12471, Bandra-Vaishnodevi Swaraj Express, 59045 Mumbai-Vapi Passenger, 59009 Virar-Bharuch Passenger. The 12921 Mumbai-Surat Flying Ranee did not start at all.

As many as six trains were delayed from 20 minutes to 10 hours in Ratlam division in Madhya Pradesh due to soil erosion at Sant Road near Panam river bridge on the Gujarat side.

Official sources said the 12484 Amritsar-Kochuveli Express was running late by 10 hours, 22902 Udaipur-Bandra (Mumbai) Express by over six hours, 19576 Nathdwara-Okha Express by five hours and 50 minutes, 19024 Ferozpur-Mumbai Central by 23 minutes and 12478 Vaishnodevi Katara-Jamnagar by two hours and 30 minutes.
