Corporation Schools to get CCTV Cameras

Yesterday at the meeting convened at Victoria hall, the city mayor, P. Rajkumar passed a very commendable resolution to install CCTV cameras at all corporation schools in Coimbatore.

There are in total 83 corporation schools around the city with 16 higher secondary schools, 10 high schools, 15 middle schools and 41 elementary schools. In the initial phase, the CCTV installations will commence at Girls higher secondary school, RS Puram, SRP Amaniammal school, Oppanakara street, Ramakrishnapuram and Ranganathapuram schools.

The police department has also convened a similar meeting today with the representatives of apartments and multi stored buildings, to install CCTV cameras at their premises.

No doubts, these surveillance plans by the corporation and police will help in curbing crimes rates and gauge suspicious activities around residentials and school premise.
