On June 21st, the Civil Supplies department officials carried on a regular vehicle check at KG Chavadi. On inspection, they seized an alto car with 700 kg of ration rice, the rice was smuggled to Kerala to trade them at higher prices.
The officials have arrested the accused Babu, a resident of Arasur and produced him at District Court No:4 and was remanded for 15 days as per the orders.
