Heavy hail stones hit Ooty today.
Nilgiris: It was a huge sigh of relief for the tourists and the residents of the Nilgiris district as heavy rains with hail storm hit the hilly terrain this afternoon.
The locals of Annikorai, Ullathi, Kavaroti, Kendhorai near Kothagiri expressed jubilation, as the scorching summer sun gave way to surprise showers.
The gardens and fields in Kothagiri and Coonoor wore a spectacular look and was shimmering with hail stones disguising the green cover.
Power cuts were also reported in several parts of the district due to the heavy rains.
