Awareness campaign against illegal liquor by Coimbatore City Police in Railway Station

An awareness campaign was conducted today to make people aware of the dire consequences of illicit liquor. On the orders of Coimbatore Commissioner of Police Thiru. Amalraj, more than 11 officials from Coimbatore Prohibition Enforcement Wing distributed pamphlets in Coimbatore Railway Station to the passengers and explained the consequences of consuming illicit liquor.

Adding to this pamphlet distribution street plays have been planned in highly crowded areas in Coimbatore like Olumbus, Ramanathapuram, Selvapuram and Sundarapuram to explain the ill effects and dire consequences caused due to liquor.

This is a welcome move and one in which the issue of illicit liquor and drinking in general is combated in a direct way. People need to know that in no uncertain terms and it's good to see the police department taking a direct role in creating awareness in this issue.
