Union Minister of state for Textile Santosh Kumar Gangwar visited Tirupur on Wednesday. On his visit, he discussed various achievements of the BJP government highlighting the fact that nearly 60,000 loom's were upgraded in 16 months. He insisted that the power loom units need more up-gradations so that the textile industry of India can achieve growth with respect to the modernisation.
He has told that the government is planning to form a knitwear board for the Tirupur Exporters. The Free Trade agreements with 15 nations were reviewed so as to avoid the hindrance in consumption of Yarn. Other aspects of the government were also discussed. An amount of Rs.50.94 crore had been sanction for Tirupur under up gradation Fund Scheme during the last two years.
Other Speakers included Coir board Chairman C.P.Radhakrishnan, senior BJP leaders and Union Minister of State for Food processing Industries said that 37 mega food parks were sanctioned and 6 have started working. And four more will be started soon. Even 38 new cold storage chains will be set up in coming 2 years.
