Officials and residents of Meenakshi Garden have been contradicting each other over the reportedly high number of dengue cases in this area.
The residents claim to have produced 14 confirmed cases of dengue in their colony but the officials have denied it.
The Corporation Deputy Commissioner B. Gandhimathi and City Health Officer K. Santhosh Kumar personally visited the area to ascertain the conditions personally.
Also, a medical team, consisting of 5 doctors, 6 nurses, 30 sanitary workers and 2 inspectors went on a drive to inspect all the 228 houses in the area and collected blood samples from people affected with fever.
Though residents produced lab reports, the officials insist that there is no dengue affected residents in that area.
