City police's WhatsApp notification goes down with fewer messages

The WhatsApp service by city police to create a better rapport between the public and the police was launched on February 18, 2016. Total messages received by them was 2657 messages. From that, 2341 were general enquiries and 316 were complaints. The messages have been reduced drastically from 60 messages per day to 20 messages per day.

People often contacted police personnel to get contact numbers of station and inspectors or for traffic update of the city. They got a lot of information regarding the incidents happening inside and also on the outskirts of the city which were forwarded to concerned jurisdiction for proper action.

One of the best ways in which the WhatsApp number has helped is by providing the green corridor for transportation of organ transplant.

The city police's WhatsApp number is 81900-00100 and hoping more communication to happen for creating a better and safe city.
