Nilgiris District Collector Innocent Divya inaugurated the pruning of rose plants and of planting of new saplings in Government Rose Garden Ooty.
Preparing the sprawling rose garden, for the forthcoming 15th Annual flower show, which will be held in May, the preparatory works have been taken up.
The rose garden is host to 30,000 rose plants in as many as 4,000 varieties and attracts thousands of tourists during the summer flower show.
Laid during the 100th Annual flower show of the famed Ooty Botanical Gardens, the Rose Garden is equally attracting visitors all around the year.
The new saplings and pruning of old plants would help to the blossom of buds in April and it would be in full bloom in May when the flower show is organized here said an official of Horticulture department.
