Nilgiri mountain train service interrupted after tree uproots on track

Nilgiris Mountain Railway (NMR) operations were suspended temporarily as a huge tree crashed on the railway tracks near Lovedale, Ooty.

Nilgiris Mountain Railway (NMR) operations were suspended temporarily as a huge tree crashed on the railway tracks near Lovedale, Ooty.



The massive tree came crashing at about 5 am today and fell on the tracks and nearby road, affecting traffic on the Ooty-Kuntha road for several hours.

Fire and Rescue personnel who rushed to the scene had removed the debris after 6 long hour operation.



Traffic was thrown out of gear in the Ooty-Kuntha road for several hours and NMR operations were also suspended.
