TNAU celebrates Republic Day with launching of new TNAU website

The 69th Republic Day was celebrated in a grand and fitting manner at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, in which the Vice-Chancellor Dr. K. Ramasamy unfurled the National Flag

The 69th Republic Day was celebrated in a grand and fitting manner at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, in which the Vice-Chancellor Dr. K. Ramasamy unfurled the National Flag.



In his address, the Vice-Chancellor stressed about the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters and Indian Leaders to achieve India the great Republic. He also made his remarks on the successful implementation of Innovative technologies transformed India into a

self-sufficient country in-spite of the increasing population. He also stressed the role of TNAU in making Tamil Nadu lead in

Agriculture.

He insisted that new strategies are being evolved to break yield barriers, to utilize inputs more efficiently to enhance the

productivity. In its acclaim, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU), a century-old premier institution providing Agriculture

education in India is ranked first among all State Agricultural Universities, he pointed out.

Finally, he recollected the note of Mahatma Gandhi about the farmers- “Of course the farmer is the father of the world. But it is his greatness that he is not aware of the fact”. He insisted the need to recognize the farmers as they are not conscious that they deserve any credit.

The vice chancellor also launched the new TNAU website which is now the storehouse of a variety of information that can cater the needs of the farming community.



The students performed the cultural programmes. Awards and prizes were distributed to the students who excelled in various activities including sports and games, and NCC programmes.

NCC Officer, NSS Coordinator, NSS Programme Officers, staff members and children and teachers of New Bharat School enthusiastically

participated in the Republic Day celebrations. A short and sweet cultural event was also performed by children and students.
