Govts transferring their burden on peoples' shoulder isn't fair - MP Kanimozhi slams for bus fare hike

"Taking into account the plight of the common people, the Tamilnadu government should reconsider and roll back the hiked bus fare", said Kanimozhi, Rajyasabha MP who was here in the city's airport to attend a party meet in Tirupur.

Coimbatore, January 20

"Taking into account the plight of the common people, the Tamilnadu government should reconsider and roll back the hiked bus fare", said Kanimozhi, Rajyasabha MP who was here in the city's airport to attend a party meet in Tirupur.

She also pointed that the inefficiency and corruption of the ruling AIADMK government are the contributory factors for the malfunction of the transport department.

"And, slamming their inefficiencies on public is condemnable. Citing diesel hike, the government should not pass the burden on to the common man by hiking the price of bus fares" she added

While denying the allegation levelled by Minister SP Velumani that it was during the DMK Government that the transport department was reduced to an ailing sector, she said that the no bus fare hike was effected during the DMK regime.

Commenting on the recent death of Dr. Sarath Prabhu who died under suspicious circumstances in New Delhi, Ms. Kanimozhi appealed to the TN government to create a dedicated helpline for the benefit of students studying in other states. As this is the second medico student who has died under such circumstance in New Delhi.

"Thorough probe should be carried out into the death of Dr. Sharath" she urged.
