In a major overnight drive against traffic offenders and history sheeters, the city police have rounded up 2162 persons for the traffic violation on whom cases were filed and arrested 117 persons who were at large from the long arm of law.

In a major overnight drive against traffic offenders and history sheeters, the city police have rounded up 2162 persons for the traffic violation on whom cases were filed and arrested 117 persons who were at large from the long arm of law.
"The overnight vehicle check by police personnel at vital junctions in 12 places which were barricaded has resulted in the arrest of the 53 grave criminals including those involved in the mercenary killing, against whom warrants were issued by the court. They were arrested and produced in court and remanded" said K.Periaiah, Commissioner of Police.
As many as 63 history sheeters were also arrested but released after the proper investigation.
All the 2162 traffic offenders were taken to task for violations such as drunk driving, driving without helmet, driving without seatbelt.And, cases were filed against them.
