Nilgiris District collector Innocent Divya took part in Pongal Celebrations organized at the boathouse in the hill town of Ooty.
The festivities including cultural programmes such as Bharatanatyam, Karagam, Kavadi, Thappattam and other such traditions dances and events were organized on the occasion.
The Baduga tribal dance was the highlight of the festivities.
A large number of domestic and foreign tourists are expected to take part in the Pongal festivities organized by the tourism department.
