Man and his two associates held for parenticide near Kangeyam

Coimbatore, January 6

Police arrested Periyasamy of Vaikalmedu, near Kangeyam in Tiruppur district and his two associates on charges of murdering his own parents for gain.

According to police Periyasamy, the son of Palanisamy, a farmer, and Kannammal of Thottathusalai near Kangeyam had conspired to kill his parents as he set his eyes on their 22- acre property. 

Periyasamy had planned it meticulously and hired the services Nagaraj, a farmhand and Nagaraj, a driver to murder his parents.

Periyasamy had left home on the pretext of visiting Tiruchendur temple when the hirelings entered the home of his parents and hacked them to death late last night.

Periyasamy who arrived at the scene of the crime the morning pleaded innocence and cried for the death of his parents.

However, Police investigations revealed that the Periyasamy had often quarreled with his parents claiming rights for the 22 acres of land and when his parents refused to part with the land he had decided to get rid of them.

The police arrested all the three who were involved in the gruesome murder. Later they were produced in court and remanded in custody
