MLA N. Karthik petitions Police Commissioner about the traffic chaos in the city

Petitioning the City Police Commissioner to streamline increasing traffic chaos in busy junctions in the city, including Singanallur, Kamarajar Road, and Tiruchy Road N. Karthik, Singanallur legislator said that increasing vehicular traffic has resulted in traffic bottlenecks and chaotic road conditions in the city.

Karthik while briefing the media after meeting the Police Commissioner K. Periaiah said that the TASMAC shop in front of the Singanallur has proved a bottleneck in the rush hour traffic. Kamaraj road, Tiruchy road are also facing a high volume of traffic due to which city denizens are put to extreme hardship.

Urging the police commissioner to post a number of traffic police personnel in these hot spots he said he has brought a motion in the Tamilnadu assembly stressing for the need to construct a flyover in Singanallur to overcome the road congestion problem.

The Singanallur legislator also threatened to stage agitations if the traffic congestion problem is not addressed by the city police.
