The sluices of Amaravati dam, in Udumalpet, has been opened for irrigation for the new Ayakut areas due to which 25,250 acres will be irrigated.
The Chief Minister Edapadi Palanisamy has ordered the opening of the slices in the main channel of the reservoir. 440 cusecs of water would be released in the channel as per the orders of the Chief Minister.
The present storage level is 59.71 feet (90 feet total storage capacity) and the irrigation would be continued for the next 7 days.
