Coimbatore District Police have planned to set up libraries in the all the 39 police stations in the District, which would come into effect from the forthcoming Pongal day.

In a novel initiative, the Coimbatore District Police have planned to set up libraries in the all the 39 police stations in the District, which would come into effect from the forthcoming Pongal day.
Revealing this to the media persons here on Sunday, Pa. Moorthy, Superintendent of Police (SP) (Rural District) said that the libraries would be set up at all police stations including 33 police stations, 3 women police stations and 3 traffic wing stations.
This novel initiative which would become effective from forthcoming Pongal day is being introduced to inculcate reading habit among the policemen in the district, he added.
"These libraries would function from the reception hall of the police station and general public are encouraged to use the libraries to enhance their knowledge", SP briefed.
Pa. Moorthy, himself being a writer, gifted a copy of “Pennmai Vazhga” a book penned by him to the media persons and also advised them to inculcate reading habit.
