IT sleuths raid SVS Engineering College for the second consecutive day

Income Tax sleuths are continuing with their raids for the second day in SVS Engineering College, Myleripalayam here, as a part of “Clean Money” initiative by the Central Government.

Income Tax sleuths are continuing with their raids for the second day in SVS Engineering College, Myleripalayam here, as a part of “Clean Money” initiative by the Central Government.

A five-member IT team, which descended on the college premises, has been conducting checks for the second consecutive day. However, there was no information about the documents seized in the raid in the past two days.

Chandrasekaran, the correspondent of the college, is supplying empty bottles to the Midas Golden Distilleries run by the V.K. Sasikala Natarajan, ( former live-in-aide of AIADMK leader and deceased Chief Minister Jayalalitha ) and her relatives.

According to sources, the present raids are being carried out on the basis of incriminating documents seized in raids conducted during November.

The residence of Karthikeyan, the son-in-law of Illavarasi (sister-in-law of Sasikala), in Karpagam Gardens, Adayar, the residence of Jegannathan, who supplies boxes to Midas and Sri Sai Godown, near Tambaram, and Midas Golden Distilleries at Padappai, are some of the other places that have come under the IT scanner.
