Tiruppur, December 22
70 sovereigns of gold was burgled from a house at Velampalayam here today.
Rajesh Kannan, who works in a weaving company, lives at Ananda Avenue, Velampalayam. Last night, he left for Kerala along with his family around midnight. At around 1 a.m., two unidentified persons came in a car and broke into the house. They also broke the steel cupboard and burgled 70 sovereigns of gold and cash and fled the spot.
Based on the footage found on the surveillance camera in the neighbourhood, the police are investigating the case.
