Four killed and two injured in a road accident near Palladam

Tirupur, Dec. 19

Four people were killed and two critically injured in a road accident near Palladam on Tuesday. According to initial reports, a van and lorry collided head-on at Rakkipalayam near Palladam.

Karthi and Manikaraj , siblings from Rakkipalayam, had bought a new Maruti van last week. Along with four friends they visited Coimbatore yesterday. While they were on their way back home, their van collided with a container lorry near G.D.N Company, Kuppuswamynaidupuram on the Coimbatore-Trichy National Highway during the wee hours of Tuesday. The lorry was en route to Ernakulam, Kerala.

Following the crash, brothers, Karthik and Manikaraj and two of their friends died on the spot . The injured were rushed to Tirupur government hospital. Superintendent of Police, Tirupur, E.S. Uma visited the spot. A case has been registered.
