V S Venupreetha, who with a score of 1193 holds the third rank in the state exam, wants to become an IAS officer. "Initially, I wished to pursue medicine. But now after due consideration I wish to become an IAS," she told TOI.
Venupreetha is a students from S K V Matriculation higher secondary school in Kandampalayam in Namakkal district. Her father V P Somasundaram is a manager in Khadicraft in Vellakoil in Tirupur district and her mother S Vijayalakshmi is a headmaster in a government elementary school. She has a younger brother V S Nagul Pranav, a Class 11 student. "I am happy and surprised as I didn't expect to achieve a state rank," Venupreetha said. She further said that she went with her regular routines while preparing for the exams. "I would start studying from 4.30am till 7am. Similarly, I would start in the evening and study until 11pm," she said.
"I was under no pressure, and my school management and teachers provided a conducive environment to study. But, I was committed to score well in the state exams," she said.
